Carlson Nutritional Supplements began in Founder Susan Carlson's small Chicago apartment in 1965 and today has grown to offer more than 300 vitamins, minerals, omega-3s, kids' products, and other nutritional supplements. Carlson is proud to still be family-owned and female-led by Susan's two daughters.
Award-Winning Quality Since 1965
Carlson began as one woman’s mission to improve the health of her family by creating nutritional supplements with high-quality ingredients. Founder Susan Carlson’s father suffered from heart issues but found relief after taking natural-source vitamin E. Inspired by this discovery and her background as a pharmacist, Susan created one of the first full lines of vitamin E worldwide, and the product line continued growing to meet the health needs of families worldwide.
Leading the Way for Omega-3s Since 1982
Carlson helped launch the omega-3 market in North America in the early 1980s, importing our first wild caught, sustainably sourced fish oils from Norway. In 2009, we launched a new marine oil sourced from an abundant species of calamari. And in 2017, we opened Carlson Health Oils, a state-of-the-art facility in Søvik, Norway, where our fish oils are refined, distilled, and bottled. Only the finest, freshest omega-3s are transported to Carlson headquarters, located just outside of Chicago.

Sustainable From the Inside Out
The full Carlson product line is recyclable and 100% plastic neutral. Carlson offsets the plastic in our products through investments in certified plastic removal projects taking place in our global waterways. To date, we’ve helped remove more than 1/4 million pounds of plastic, which is then recycled or upcycled. Look for the Reduced Impact seal on Carlson products, and please recycle your bottle.
